You're weekend brunch plans need this! Simple and gets prepped the night before.

Ingredients:

4 (a day old) croissants

1/2 cup milk

1/2 cup heavy cream

1/4 brown sugar

3 eggs

1/2 tsp cinnamon

Pinch of salt

1/2 cup berries

Butter to grease dish

  1. Grease a pie dish with butter and set aside.

  2. Slice croissants in half.

  3. In a bowl whisk eggs, then add sugar, milk, cream, cinnamon and salt.

  4. Dip each piece of croissant into mixture and arrange in pie dish.

  5. Gently pour the rest of the mixture over the croissants.

  6. Arrange sliced berries between croissants.

  7. Cover dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 8 hours.

  8. When ready to bake, let dish sit out in room temperature while oven preheats for about 20 mins.

  9. Set oven to 375°.

  10. Bake for 25 mins uncovered in the middle rack.

  11. Dust with powdered sugar and enjoy with maple syrup.

*We're using a day old croissant because they soak the mixture better and don't leave us with mushy French toast.

*any berries of choice works.

*8 hrs is best but if you're in a rush, at least 2 hrs to soak in the mixture.
